The Run the Race cafe which has recently been set up to celebrate the Olympics in the Belvoir Shopping Centre has seen hundreds of people come through its doors since it opened just two weeks ago.
Run the Race Cafe, which has been organised by over 100 volunteers from the churches in and around Coalville, has put on fun and games for everyone. There have been giant games, crafts for the children, a climbing wall, shoppers having their picture taken with an Olympic torchbearer and not forgetting plenty of tea with lots of delicious homemade cakes.
In celebration of the closing ceremony at the weekend, and to mark the once in a lifetime occasion, on Saturday 11 August 2012 the Co-op Snibston brass band will be performing for the public and a youth dance group will be entertaining the crowds at 12noon.
The band will be playing at 11am and 1pm and shoppers are encouraged to come down to the Belvoir Shopping Centre to listen to the local award-winning band, watch the dancers and take part in the fun activities the cafe has planned for the day.
