Due to damage caused by severe weather to the roofs of two units at the Belvoir Shopping Centre, the centre was closed for the morning on Sunday 2nd November. This was a necessary step to protect shoppers and allow a full inspection of the damage. The team responded quickly and the area was promptly cleared and made safe and secure, which allowed the centre to be reopened around lunchtime. The two units effected were The Pound Party and Store Twenty One. As the damage was to the first floor of the premises, the ground floor trading space of both stores was not effected so both stores have been able to open today (Monday 3rd November). Fortunately, the incident occurred early in the morning, prior to the centre opening, which meant that no one was hurt. Work will now commence to repair the damage.
