Local woman to Brave the Shave - 25 Aug 16
Samantha Alderton-Bale, from Coalville, is preparing herself to shave her head all in the name of charity!
The event will take place on Saturday 3rd September at the entrance to the Belvoir Shopping Centre on Belvoir Road, in front of the old Bakerís Oven shop. Samantha will be at the centre from 10am until 3pm raising money with a raffle, tombola and cake-sale, ahead of the hair shaving that will take place at 2:30pm.
Samantha, aged 46, has taken part in other fundraising activities in the past five years and is now raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of her friend Angela who tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2009.
Ahead of the big hair cut Samantha said: ďAngelaís bravery, strength and positivity changed my world. She touched a lot of peoplesí lives and was laughing and smiling until the end. Iím doing this in her memory and hope to raise money for a very worthwhile charity.Ē
Samantha hopes to raise £500 for Macmillan as part of its Brave the Shave campaign. People can either donate on the day or online at Bravetheshave.org.uk/shavers/samantha-alderton-bale/ or by visiting the Belvoir Shopping Centre website.
