25 March 2014 – Visitors to the Belvoir Shopping Centre in Coalville helped Marie Curie Cancer Care raise almost £550 when the charity was collecting donations at the centre on Saturday 15 March. The charity, who offer help and support to those with cancer and their families, were collecting donations throughout the centre and offered face painting and other activities in the Marie Curie Cancer Care shop. Carrie Seaton, from Marie Curie Cancer Care for Leicestershire and Rutland said: “We are so pleased with the amount of money that we raised. People were so generous and forthcoming with their donations. It was great to see people heading to the Marie Curie shop as well. We are incredibly grateful to the people of Coalville for their donations; it really does make a difference.” A spokesperson for the Belvoir Shopping Centre commented: “It’s fantastic that we helped to raise such a large amount of money in just a few hours. Shoppers in Coalville are always very generous when we invite charities into the centre to raise money, I’m pleased that this was also the case for Marie Curie Cancer Care as it is such a worthwhile cause that helps many families in the area.” For further information about the Belvoir Shopping Centre please visit www.belvoirshoppingcentre.co.uk or call 01530 813893.
